Throughout every part of our campus, you can find ambitious Spiders aspiring to be the best biologist, lawyer, musician, athlete (and more!) they can be. We’re fortunate to be part of an institution that has countless opportunities — like the prestigious three-year Beckman Scholars grant that supports science research. 

For the fifth time, UR has received this grant from the Arnold and Mabel Beckman Foundation supporting student research in a faculty mentor’s laboratory. 

“Performing faculty-mentored, outcome-oriented research is a hallmark of a UR education, and this award recognizes that effort and benefits our students,” said chemistry professor Carol Parish, who directs Richmond’s Beckman program.
