Boundless opportunities are available to Richmond students — just take a look at our EnCompass study abroad program or our signature Richmond Guarantee, and that’s just scratching the surface. In the School of Arts & Sciences, our scholars are encouraged to pursue diverse interests along with their peers through the Humanities Fellows Program.

The program brings together a community of student scholars to examine a critical issue within the human experience. Karen Fleming, ’21, is majoring in English and dance and melded her two disciplines together into one cohesive research project through the program. Her final product was a work of choreography that pulled from themes she uncovered in six different novels.

“I realized I had no idea what humanities research actually looked like because oftentimes when you hear ‘research,’ you automatically think of a science lab, so I was intrigued,” Fleming said.

We love seeing what our students create!
