Spider Pride

The Spider network runs deep and not only enhances the course of our students’ lives, but it oftentimes makes a global impact, too.

Take two UR Law 1L students, Chase Whittaker and Ken Kajihiro, who share a desire to help others and make a difference. Whittaker runs SanD/Stone Initiative, an education-based nonprofit in Africa, and Kajihiro’s interest in international human rights inspired him to volunteer just days after their December exams. They worked to complete renovations on two new schools for students whose access to education is limited.

“Because of Ken’s hard work and dedication, the buildings were successfully converted in time for the school to open for the January 2020 term,” Whittaker said.

We are proud of all our students, especially the ones who dedicate limited free time to making the world a better place.
