We’re proud of our liberal arts roots and continually rise the ranks in some of the country’s biggest and most well-known reports, so we’re pleased to share our impressive standing — top 3% in the country — in a new study evaluating a college education’s return on investment.

The Georgetown University’s study was released this week and out of the 4,526 schools included, we came in at No. 105 for our net present value at 40 years — meaning that a UR education has an impressive ROI long after graduation. Coming in within the top 3% nationally is a strong reflection of some of the things that we value most about the liberal arts at Richmond — critical thinking, writing, the ability to think across disciplines, internship experiences, one-on-one time with professors, and much more. We aren’t the only ones touting the benefits of the liberal arts — The Washington Post specifically highlighted that aspect of the study as well.

We’ve always known the value of a UR education and all that we offer to our Spiders — but it never hurts to be reminded when others recognize our prestige, too!
