Our student body may be smaller than some of our peer institutions, but don’t be mistaken — we tend to lead the pack when it comes to academic excellence.

For instance, five teams of Spiders competed in the International Collegiate Programming Competition (ICPC) for the Mid-Atlantic region, and the team including seniors Tuan Le, David Qin, and Wesley Su won the top spot locally and placed ninth out of 160 other schools.

The ICPC is a five-hour competition testing students' skills in programming, problem-solving, and algorithmic thinking. Professor Prateek Bhakta attributes our Spiders’ success to the strength of our computer science department and the high quality of our students’ creative problem-solving. We couldn’t agree more.

Congratulations to all of our Spiders who competed!
