Spider Pride

Our entrepreneurial students don’t wait until graduation to jump-start their careers — they’re known for kicking things off while still on campus. It doesn’t hurt when national organizations recognize them for their hard work, too.

Sela Betz, ’20, is the first Spider to be named to the American Advertising Federation’s list of the nation’s 50 Most Promising Multicultural Students. She single-handedly established Spider Advertising after her internship with TBWA/The Integer Group in New York last summer.

“A recruiter told me that if you don't have an advertising club on campus to join, then start one,” Betz said. “Working with real clients is an academic and learning experience in itself because you gain firsthand experience collaborating with teammates and growing and utilizing your skills.”

According to one of her faculty mentors, Jeff Carlson, she is one of the most creative and persistent students the Robins School has seen — and we are so proud of what she’s creating!
