Spider Pride

With this week’s campus festivities in honor of International Education Week, it seemed like a perfect time to highlight Richmond’s deep commitment to helping our students expand their studies internationally through dynamic barrier-breaking programs.

And it’s not just about spending a semester abroad, although more than 65 percent of Spiders do! From EnCompass — which offers full financial support to those who may not think they can study abroad because of finances, athletic schedules, or course loads — to Sophomore Scholars in Residence programs, the Chaplaincy’s pilgrimages, and our recent spotlight on East Asia, we are dedicated to providing opportunities for our Spiders to immerse themselves in other cultures.

“International Education Week provides an opportunity to share and expand on our faculty, staff, and student interests here on campus,” said Dean of International Education Martha Merritt. “We want to work with members of our campus community to showcase and celebrate their connections to countries in Asia.”

We are proud to support international education and our ambitious students!
