Only a select few get to lead the front office of a NFL team, but now one of our own — Joe Douglas, ’99 — has joined those prestigious ranks as the New York Jets’ general manager.

Douglas, a former Spider football player, is no stranger to the sport’s biggest night — he’s played an instrumental role in both the Baltimore Ravens’ and the Philadelphia Eagles’ Super Bowl wins.

“Douglas is well-liked by his peers and is good for building morale,” ESPN’s Tim McManus writes. “He is quick to give credit where it is deserved and checks his ego at the door.”

Congratulations, Joe! While red and blue will always be your best colors, we think green and white will look pretty nice, too.
