Spider Pride

We talk a lot about Spiders taking on the world, and one of our entrepreneurial alums is certainly living that truth.

Matt Landau, ’05, is demystifying the global vacation rental process with his show presented by Booking.com — which just received a nod in Forbes. Fueled by his background as a travel journalist in Costa Rica and his UR degree in international economics and Spanish, The Vacation Rental Show is the first of its kind — taking viewers on a journey through the world of vacation properties.

“Over the past five years, vacation rentals have been a disruption to the luxury travel market,” Landau said in the article. “To be clear, luxury vacation rentals are not new … but thanks to the rise of platforms like Airbnb, VRBO and Booking.com … the amount of supply has blossomed, prices have come down and the quality in services has risen significantly. This level of access to the local communities is, to many travelers, the new luxury.”

We’re so proud of everything Matt has accomplished since his days on campus!
