Student groups rally for mental health awareness

Spider Pride

We love our students and faculty for too many reasons to count, and one of our favorite traits is the desire to band together as a Spider Family to help others

A recent example came out of a partnership between the Interfraternity Council and the Student-Athlete Advisory Board to bring awareness to mental health and build solidarity between different groups on campus. The resulting “Breaking the Stigma” walk grew into a larger initiative, becoming an inaugural 5k route with students from all corners of campus.

“The team of students that organized this event has already taken steps to ensure that the tradition continues, because we share a passion for promoting mental health awareness and know that we can most effectively do so as a cohesive community,” said IFC President Dan Mahoney, ’20.

We’ve always known the strength of the Spider connection, and we couldn’t be more proud of these students for what they’ve accomplished.
