When one of the nation’s most prestigious scholarships is on the table, you should know by now that a Spider won’t be far from snagging it. And not just one, but three in this recent case.

Three rising seniors have received Goldwater scholarships, the preeminent undergraduate award in science and math. This now ties our own record for the most in a single year, previously accomplished in 2017 and 2007. Adrian Matthews is researching chemical compounds that will contribute to the pharmaceutical industry, Lindsey Paul is finding new molecules that exhibit unique reactivity with carbon dioxide, and Michael Wyatt is working with algorithms to estimate photometric redshifts. 

Academic honors like these are exactly the kind of thing that make us proud of our hardworking Spiders!
