Generous UR supporters gift $2M to Chaplaincy

Spider Pride

Around here, you can’t hear the name Weinstein without thinking of the generosity the family has bestowed upon UR for many years. This time, alums Marcus, R’49, and Carole Weinstein, W’75, and Allison Weinstein and Ivan Jecklin have given $2 million to support our Chaplaincy’s initiatives.

The endowment will fund intensive domestic and international travel, practices of personal and social wellbeing, engagement with thought leaders and humanitarians, internships, and other forms of academic inquiry and expression for our students.

“Among the great challenges facing our global society is the ability to engage meaningfully across lines of religious and cultural difference,” UR Chaplain Craig Kocher said. “This gift will ensure our students have that capacity.”

We continue to be thankful to the Weinstein and Jecklin families for their enduring #SpiderPride!
