Women's golf takes conference title -- again

April 23, 2018

Spider Pride

Spiders have a tendency to prove that adversity is just preparation for greatness. This rang true for our women’s golf team as they came from behind in their recent conference tournament to take home the title — for the third year in a row.

The winning team wasn’t the only thing to celebrate as two of our players earned individual honors at the Patriot League Championship.

Junior Sophie DiPetrillo won the individual title, becoming the first player in program history to secure a conference crown while winning two events in the same season. Because of her stellar performance, the Patriot League also named her Most Outstanding Player.

Freshman Lizzie Reedy earned the Rookie of the Year title and finished the tournament third overall. As if that weren’t enough, she also took home top freshman honors and was an All-Conference First Team member.

But the season isn’t over yet for this group of talented ladies. In May, the team is heading to its third consecutive NCAA Regionals.

Congratulations, Spiders! We are so proud of your impressive wins.
