Men's lacrosse makes history

Spider Pride

Put down those March Madness brackets because we have lacrosse news. Everyone knows Spiders are known for excelling in their academic pursuits, and athletics is no different. Our men’s lacrosse team just logged its second consecutive major victory over No. 14 North Carolina, which marked the second win over a nationally ranked team at home (No. 17 Fairfield was the first.)

For those keeping score, it’s also the first win for us over a Power 5 Conference opponent at home, not to mention that the Tar Heels are five-time national champs.

"For a group that's still getting some of their first experiences, especially in these tight games … and for our guys to stay the course, I think shows tremendous maturity," head coach Dan Chemotti said. "We needed that. I'm really proud of them for doing that. Nobody panicked; nobody strayed from the game plan. We just kept plugging along.”

Break out that red and blue and cheer for them at their next game. Go, Spiders!
