The exceptional caliber of students and faculty here at Richmond often draws the attention of others across the country. Law Dean Wendy Perdue, for instance, is a leader in her field who was just tapped to become the new president of the Association of American Law Schools.

As president, her leadership team comprises others from Harvard and William & Mary, and we know her expertise will enhance the organization just as it has strengthened our law school.

The AALS is a nonprofit association whose membership is made up of 179 law schools, enrolling the majority of the nation’s law students. It is the premier association for law schools, and its participants go on to become lawyers, judges, and lawmakers.

“I look forward to working with my colleagues to further strengthen legal education and the foundations of our system of justice,” Perdue said. “Our primary focus centers around providing the excellent education our students expect and our democratic society needs.”

Perdue joined the Spider family as dean in 2011 and has worked tirelessly to be a leader for our campus, as well as the legal community at large.

We are so proud she is representing the University of Richmond on a national level. Congratulations, Dean Perdue!
